For the fifth time already, Team rhino's Leipert from Wegberg is taking part in the 24 h Dubai race held between 14th and 16th January 2010. For Ascari, this is the first time ever that one of their cars is used in a 24 h race. All in all, some 80 GT and touring cars are at the start.

"We have already taken part in this race many times so we are one of the more experienced teams in the desert", says Team Manager Ingo Leipert about the fifth participation in a 24 h Dubai race. "However, this year will be a true highlight since we are at the start with an Ascari."

Well-known drivers from inland and abroad are sitting in the cockpit of this 520 PS strong sports car built by the British racing car manufacturer Ascari Cars.

For example Roland Hertner, who finished last year's ADAC Procar (Div. 1) in third place or Peter Röschmann from Switzerland, who is known from the Porsche Sports Cup. Andzej Dzikevic from Lithuania was overall winner of the 24 h Dubai race in 2009 and joins the Team Leipert. He has also already gained experiences in the VLN long distance championships at the Nürburgring Nordschleife. Last but not least, Roland Rehfeld (known from VLN, ADAC GT Masters) and Marcel Leipert (ADAC GT Masters) complete the driver quintet.

Prior to his departure to the desert, Marcel Leipert explains: "It is our aim to be among the 5 best of the entire class segment. We have worked hard in order to be at the start in Dubai, so a top ranking would be a just reward."
